SAM Encoder Settings

The following is a guide to help you set up your encoders using the SAM3 or SAM4 Broadcaster

Start by finding your ENCODERS windows in the broadcaster.  Create a new Encoder by clicking the + button.

Next, select MP3 (Normal), then click "OK"

NOTE: This setting may cause problems with newer computers and sound cards.  If so, select MP3PRO.

In the next windows, you should be in the "Converter" tab.  Select Fast Resampling (Medium Quality if mo3Pro was chosen) in the Quality drop down, then your desired Format in the Format drop down.  It is recommended to select 80kb/s, 22,1kHz, however you are free to use whatever bit rate you want up to 128kb/s.  Remember, however, the higher the bit rate the more bandwidth you will need to broadcast.  Make sure your internet connection's upstream will support your desired format.

Next, click on the SERVER DETAILS tab.

In your rental notecard, you will find your IP number, your port number and your password.  Enter them in the appropriate areas.  Please enter your information carefully, and remember that the password is cAsE sEnSiTiVe.

You may enter the other information as you deem appropriate. Then click "OK".

Once you have all the information in your encoder and you are ready to begin streaming, click once on your encoder to highlight it, then click the right arrow (to the right of the - button).  If everything was set up properly, your status will indicate that it is encoding.  If it is not, please make sure you check your settings and passwords,
